who we are
Having a passion for language and due to our Greek background / studies, we decided to specialize our teaching to a specific target group, namely Greek speakers. We started teaching Dutch to Greek speakers many years ago at the Greek Community of Amsterdam and with private lessons at home and on skype. Due to this experience, we came to realize that Greeks have a very different approach on language learning, which is based on the fact that the Greek language is full of details and requires a different learning method. We often hear from our students that they struggled or even failed to learn Dutch before coming to us, because their Dutch teacher could not explain grammar rules broadly, or because their method did not suit them. Most Greek speakers have had a negative experience while learning Dutch at a language school in the Netherlands. For this reason, we decided to design a method that suits Greek speakers specifically and makes Dutch easy for them. First of all, having everything explained in your native language is essential for beginners. Furthermore, the particularities of Dutch grammar and syntax seem odd to Greek native speakers on first sight. In this course, every odd particularity is explained in conjunction with the Greek language, so that it suddenly seems so simple! The constant comparison of a new language with your native tongue makes it much easier to learn, since it founds learning on understanding rather than memorizing!
Our lessons emphasize speaking, since starting to speak Dutch is experienced as the most difficult part of learning the language – especially for speakers of Greek, the pronunciation of which is completely different to Dutch.
Our mission is to make the Dutch language easy and enjoyable for anyone to learn! Regardless your background and personal situation, we have the right program for you in order to achieve your goals and learn Dutch quickly!
Our method has proven to be very successful, not only for Greek speakers, but also for English and Italian speakers! The progress and satisfaction of our students is our reward and motivation to constantly improve our method and enrich our teaching material.
